Summer is one of the best times to experience Warsaw. Throughout July and August, WAW4Free organises a series of free guided walking tours that reveal fascinating stories, hidden landmarks and lesser-known corners of the Polish capital.

4 July – Hidden stories of Solec and Ludna Street
The first summer walk explores Solec and Ludna Street, an area filled with fascinating stories, industrial heritage and architectural details that often go unnoticed. Discover how this part of Powiśle evolved over the centuries and learn about the people who once called it home.

11 July – Krakowskie Przedmieście and the Old Town beyond the obvious
Warsaw’s Royal Route and UNESCO-listed Old Town are among the city’s most visited attractions, but there’s far more to discover than the famous landmarks. This guided walk uncovers hidden architectural details, forgotten stories and places that most visitors simply walk past.

25 July – The Warsaw uprising stories of northern Powiśle
This historical walk focuses on Northern Powiśle during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. As you walk through the district, your guide will explain the events that shaped this part of the city and share stories of courage, resistance and everyday life during wartime.

1 August – Northern Powiśle on the anniversary of the Warsaw uprising
Held on the anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, this walk offers a meaningful opportunity to visit places connected with one of the most important chapters in Warsaw’s history. It provides valuable historical context while allowing participants to experience the city through the stories of those who lived it.

22 August – Ursus and the 50th anniversary of the workers’ defence committee (KOR)
Beyon the city centre, Warsaw’s districts also have remarkable stories to tell. This guided walk through Ursus explores the workers’ protests of June 1976 and the creation of the Workers’ Defence Committee (KOR), an important milestone in Poland’s modern history.

29 August – Discover the industrial heritage of Ursus
The final summer walk follows the industrial history of Ursus, once one of Poland’s most important manufacturing districts. Participants will learn how the area developed, how its factories shaped local communities and how Ursus has transformed over recent decades.
