Royal Tulip Warsaw Centre Earns Green Key Certification

At Royal Tulip Warsaw Centre, we believe that the future belongs to those who take responsibility today. That’s why we are proud to share that our property has been awarded the prestigious Green Key certification – a globally recognised hallmark of excellence in environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism and hospitality industry.

What Is the Green Key Certificate?

The Green Key is an international eco-label awarded to tourism and leisure establishments that meet the highest standards in:

  • Sustainable practices
  • Efficient resource management
  • Waste and energy reduction
  • Environmental education and awareness

The programme is operated by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which has been promoting sustainable development since 1981 in over 75 countries, in collaboration with organisations such as UNESCO, UNEP, and the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.

Why Green Key Matters to Us

For Royal Tulip Warsaw Centre, achieving the Green Key certification represents:

  • A tangible demonstration of our environmental responsibility through daily practices
  • A valuable educational tool for both our team and our guests
  • A cornerstone in building our image as a modern and conscious aparthotel
  • A motivator for continuous improvement and enhanced service quality

Green Key inspires us to further embed social responsibility into the very foundation of our brand.

Our Green Actions

Receiving the Green Key certification is the result of a team-wide effort at Royal Tulip Warsaw Centre. We’ve implemented a range of initiatives to make our property more environmentally friendly every day:

♻️ Everyday Sustainability

  • Switching off lights and equipment after use
  • Reducing paper usage and encouraging double-sided printing
  • Promoting walking, cycling, and waste sorting

🍽️ Eco-Friendly Gastronomy

  • Using local and seasonal produce to shorten supply chains
  • Offering vegetarian and vegan menu options
  • Thoughtful buffet planning to minimise food waste
  • Replacing plastic with paper packaging

🚯 Plastic Reduction

  • Using dispensers instead of single-use cosmetic minis
  • Providing straws only on request
  • Serving water in carafes

🚲 Transport and Mobility

  • Promoting cycling with bicycle availability and routes
  • Installing electric vehicle charging stations
  • Encouraging public transport use

To support active and nature-loving guests, we’ve created a custom map highlighting nearby parks and scenic areas, along with three specially curated cycling routes.

Green Team – changing the future together

This year, we also launched our very own Green Team at Royal Tulip Warsaw Centre – a dedicated group of eco-minded employees committed to developing and expanding our sustainability efforts. Because together, we can make a real difference.
